Potensi Non-Fungible Token (NFT) Dalam Industri Musik Di Era Digital

Abstract


Pada era digital musisi mendistribusikan musiknya pada layanan streaming musik. Namun musisi belum cukup puas terhadap pendapatan royalti yang dibagikan dari layanan tersebut, karena terlalu kecil dan permasalahan royalti yang dianggap kurang transparan. Kemunculan Non-Fungible Token (NFT) dianggap oleh sebagian musisi dapat memecahkan persoalan royalti dan transparansi dalam industri musik, serta menghilangkan pihak ketiga seperti label dan agregator. Selain itu Non-Fungible Token (NFT) memberi banyak potensi dalam industri musik di era WEB 3.0. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui potensi NFT dalam industri musik pada era digital. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah pelaku industri musik yang sudah mengadopsi NFT. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi, teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan dengan melakukan wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini NFT dapat memecahkan persoalan royalti, transparansi, dan melengkapi distribusi sebelumnya. Adopsi NFT dalam industri musik juga memberi banyak peluang dan potensi yang berhubungan dengan WEB 3.0, seperti pengarsipan, sistem tiket, utilitas, GameFi, kolaborasi antar seniman dan sebagai lisensi musik. Namun juga terdapat tantangan dan kedala yang menghambat NFT di adopsi sepenuhnya dalam industri musik.

In the digital era, musicians distribute their music on streaming services. However, musicians are not quite satisfied with the royalty income distributed from these services, because it is too small and the royalty problem is considered less transparent. The emergence of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFT) is considered by some musicians to solve the problem of royalties and transparency in the music industry, and eliminate third parties such as labels and aggregators. In addition, Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) provide a lot of potential in music industry especially in the WEB 3.0 era. This study aims to determine the potential of NFTs in the music industry in the digital era. The subjects in this study are music industry players who have adopted NFTs. The research method used is qualitative research with a phenomenological approach, data collection techniques carried out by observation, conducting interviews, and documentation. Results shows that NFTs can solve the problem of royalties, transparency, and complement the previous distribution. The adoption of NFTs in the music industry also provides many opportunities and potentials related to WEB 3.0, such as archiving, ticketing systems, utilities, GameFi, collaboration between artists and as a music license. However, there are also challenges and obstacles that prevent NFTs from being fully adopted in the music industry.
