Reinterpretasi Penjarian Cello pada Fantasia for Cello and Piano karya Joko Suprayitno & Sulistyo Utomo (Sebuah Studi Komparatif)

Abstract


Artikel ini merupakan hasil penelitian tentang eksplorasi praktik instrumen cello. Penelitian ini akan berfokus pada reinterpretasi penjarian peneliti pada karya Fantasia for Cello and Piano dalam bentuk eksperimen dengan meninjau interpretasi para pemain sebelumnya yang diharapkan dapat memberi opsi penjarian yang lebih nyaman yang disesuaikan dengan anatomi jari peneliti. Fenomena pengaruh penyesuaian anatomi jari dalam keputusan opsi penjarian ini menjadikan dorongan bagi peneliti untuk bereksperimen dalam reinterpretasi penjarian dari karya tersebut. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan komparatif dan practice led research. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menciptakan hasil reinterpretasi penjarian berupa opsi penjarian pada beberapa bagian yang dirasa krusial dan memerlukan perhatian khusus.  Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa beberapa opsi dari keseluruhan pembahasan tidak relevan bagi para pemain sebelumnya mengenai opsi penjarian peneliti. Akan tetapi, hasil reinterpretasi penjarian ini dapat menjadi alternatif bagi para pemain lain yang ingin memainkan karya ini di masa mendatang. Dengan semakin banyak alternatif opsi penjarian, maka akan semakin mempermudah dalam menentukan opsi penjarian yang dirasa paling cocok pada seorang pemain. Artikel ini diharapkan menambah pemahaman bagi para pembaca mengenai karya Fantasia for Cello and Piano agar semakin dikenal dikalangan masyarakat dan mancanegara. Artikel ini juga diharapkan menjadi sebuah literasi baru bagi para pembaca yang ingin meneliti tentang reinterpretasi khususnya reinterpretasi karya musik.

Cello Fingering Reinterpretation on Fantasia for Cello and Piano by Joko Suprayitno & Sulistyo Utomo (a Comparative Study)

This article is the result of research on cello practice exploration. This research focused on author’s fingering reinterpretation based on Fantasia for Cello and Piano in the forms of experiment of previous player’s interpretation, which is expected to provide more comfortable fingering options that are adapted to author’s finger anatomy. Phenomenon of finger anatomical adjustments on fingering option decisions has prompted author to experimenting on fingering options of the work. This research method uses qualitative method with comparative and practice led research approach. This research aims to create the result from reinterpreting fingering option on several spot that are crucial and require extra attention. The result of this research has shown that some of author’s fingering option from the overall discussions are not relevant for the previous players. However, the result of this fingering reinterpretation could be an alternative for some other players who who want to play this piece in the future. With more alternatives fingering options, will make it more easier for the players to choose the best fingering options. This article is expected to increase readers' understanding of the work Fantasia for Cello and Piano so that can be increasingly known among the public and abroad. This article is also expected to be a new literacy for readers who want to research about reinterpretation, especially reinterpretation of musical works.
