<dc:subject xml:lang="id-ID">design, chairs, public space, harbor, culture, sustainable</dc:subject>
<dc:description xml:lang="id-ID">The design of this chair originated from the problems that exist in the waiting room of the Surabaya North Quay port where there are still many interior product designs for standard public spaces, so that it seems boring and uncomfortable to use for a long time, therefore an innovation has emerged to create. comfortable chairs used for a long time with the concept of lesehan culture which is a sitting culture that was passed down by our ancestors and we should maintain this distinctive feature of Indonesian sitting culture in the midst of an increasingly modern era. The design is designed so that the user can sit cross-legged and stretch out comfortably, therefore the seat is made wide with a reference to sitting cross-legged and long as a reference for sitting side-by-side so that the user can determine the sitting position that is most comfortable because it is different from western sitting culture which prioritizes ergonomics. Indonesians feel more comfortable when given the freedom to achieve the relaxation they desire. The main principle of sustainability that the writer wants to apply here by utilizing used material which is wasted into a pile of garbage can be a valuable product.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="id-ID">Human beings are the social species that relies on social interaction to survive and thrive. The COVID-19 pandemic hinders this process and made the basic human social needs was put on halt. When these needs cannot be met, humans will use alternative social inputs sources, one of which is through the adoptions of pets. The COVID-19 pandemic is the biggest factor in pet adoption in 2020 (Morgan L, et al. 155). The increase of pet adoption was caused by the increasing feeling of loneliness due to governments restrictions on social activities. The COVID-19 also causes the rise of remote working activities around the world. Interior Design prioritizes human relationships in a space which is an important factor in making a design that could provide a deeper connection for the users. In a workspace, productivity was supported by comfort, especially when working from home. The designing process uses Design Thinking method to produce the appropriate design for the users. The need for integrated pet furniture and human furniture deepens each year, thus the demand for integrated design was prevalent. To create comfortable working situation for pets and human the research was conducted to produce the furniture that could fulfil the need. The results of this study are to produce four different furniture product set that would benefits the user and their respective pets.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="id-ID">As postmodern aesthetics develop in the digital world, the coquette trend is becoming increasingly popular, especially among Gen-Z. One fashion product that can be associated with this aesthetic is the Mary Jane model shoe, which has long been known for its classic and feminine design. This study uses the Morphological Forced Connection (MFC) method to explore various design alternatives that adapt the coquette aesthetic elements of Mary Jane shoes. Data were obtained through literature studies, market observations, and questionnaires involving women aged 18–26 years to understand user preferences. The results of the exploration using the MFC method produced 243 design combinations, which were then narrowed down to three main alternatives. The final design chosen based on aesthetic analysis and user preferences, resulted in "Marie Janes" shoes with a combination of velvet material, mixed straps, and soft colors that reflect the coquette aesthetic. Validation of the final design was carried out through questionnaires given to industry experts and users, showing a high level of conformity to the coquette aesthetic concept. This design also combines visual elements of the Rococo era, such as ribbon details, lace, and floral motifs, which strengthen the product identity. By applying the MFC method, the redesign of Mary Jane shoes successfully adapts the coquette aesthetic effectively. The resulting product offers strong aesthetic and commercial value, making it a relevant innovation for the contemporary fashion market.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="id-ID">Self-service programs in restaurants, such as the Budaya Beberes campaign, are initiatives designed to promote environmentally responsible behavior by encouraging active customer participation in cleaning food waste and managing leftovers independently. This concept not only contributes to environmental sustainability but also reflects a paradigm shift in modern restaurant service systems that emphasize efficiency, social responsibility, and user engagement. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness and user comfort of self-service stations based on physical design elements that influence user experience and behavior. Employing a mixed methods approach with data triangulation, qualitative (behavioral observations and interviews) and quantitative (Likert-scale questionnaires analyzed via descriptive statistics), the research explores ergonomic issues in multifunctional furniture within public spaces. The findings indicate that non-strategic station placement, lack of clear visual signage, and overlapping spatial circulation reduce user comfort and potentially hinder customer participation in sustainability programs. The study highlights the importance of applying ergonomic design principles, clear spatial layouts, and informative visual guidance to create an effective, comfortable, and sustainable self-service experience within restaurant environments.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">E-Bike ITSB is a solar powered electric commuter vehicle developed by ITSB since 2016. The first E-Bike ITSB model has entered the production simulation stage which began in 2017. According to the ITSB Product Design Study Center roadmap, E-Bike ITSB must begin to enter the utility expansion stage. One of the potential needs to be met by the E-Bike ITSB is an operational vehicle for security officers in an integrated area. Design aspects that are considered are the usability & visual quality of the product, and user ergonomics/anthropometry. The design method was carried out through analitycal prototyping. Mobility studies are carried out by survey, interview and route mapping. The case study was conducted in Kota Deltamas. The design direction is obtained through perceptual mapping analysis which is used to identify the expected image on the product. The study results show that the second E-Bike ITSB model image is expected to lead to offroad-like – motorcycle-like. The specifications of the second E-Bike model cannot be the same as the first model. The e-bike must be able to go up to 80 km/hr. These requirements change the E-Bike ITSB in body frame, electrical and motor specifications.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="id-ID">The process of measuring the height and weight of toddlers regularly is very important to be carried out to prevent and handle stunting from an early age. These measurements are often carried out using separate height and weight measuring instruments, and there are still many Posyandu in Indonesia that use conventional instruments that are less safe, less accurate, and less comfortable, which results in discomfort and difficulties in the measurement process, both for Posyandu cadres, as well as the children themselves. In addition, there are still not many stunting detection tools made according to the characteristics of toddlers. Therefore, this study was conducted to find systems, types of height and weight measuring instruments that are practical and accurate, with visualization, product ergonomics, and features that are by the characteristics of toddlers, so that the measurement process can be more accurate, comfortable, safe, and pleasant with design thinking methods and ergonomic approaches. The result of this design is the design of an Arduino-based digital stunting detection tool in the form of a fox and equipped with a phone holder plus a plush-toys feature to attract children's attention which could be used to measure a child's weight and height simultaneously, as well as placing a device</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="id-ID">This study aims to design an efficient and functional automotive accessory cabinet using a modular system for a home garage with limited space. Along with the growth of the global furnitur industry and the need for efficient storage space, a modular system is chosen because of its flexibility in adjusting the size of the space. This cabinet is designed to be easily disassembled according to user needs, maximizing garage space efficiency without reducing aesthetics. This study uses a qualitative method with a Design Thinking approach, involving five stages: empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test. Teak wood is chosen as the main material because of its durability and aesthetic value. The modular design not only meets the needs of storing automotive accessories, but also supports the principle of sustainability through the use of durable and environmentally friendly materials. The results show that this modular design is effective in optimizing limited space, providing a flexible and aesthetic solution for storage in a home garage. The modular system ensures that the cabinet can be customized and used in various configurations, allowing users to optimize limited garage space. The modular system has advantages over conventional designs in optimizing limited space. Unlike traditional cabinets that have a fixed structure, the modular system allows adjustments and rearrangements as needed, making it more flexible, efficient, and can maximize every inch of space.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="id-ID">Cognitive development stimulation is very important in early childhood education because it affects thinking skills and learning readiness. At the age of 4–5 years, learning tools must be adapted to the way children learn. This study aims to create an educational maze game with User Experience (UX) guidelines to help the cognitive development of children aged 4–5 years in the context of the Merdeka Curriculum Early Childhood Education. The research used the Lean UX method, which included reading literature, observing how children learn, compiling design requirements, creating prototypes, and testing users. Based on the results of observations and evaluations, it was found that children responded positively to interactive and visually appealing media and that the application of UX principles in maze games increased children's engagement during learning, especially in their ability to focus, recognize patterns, and solve simple problems. In addition, the interaction between teachers and children also increased during learning activities. The novelty of this research is the application of the Lean UX approach as a framework for designing PAUD educational games that prioritize user experience in design decision-making. The findings of this study have implications for the development of learning media that is more participatory, contextual, and supports active learning in early childhood education</dc:description>

According to the Central Bureau of Statistics, in 2020, as many as 5% of Indonesia’s population are disabled. Autism is one of the pervasive intellectual disabilities in children that hinders the development of cognitive, language, behavior, communication, and social interaction. In 2019, the work vacancy for the disabled only covers 0.28% of the general job opportunity in Indonesia and further decreased by 0.1% in 2020. Therefore, to improve the human life quality of the disabled, an appropriate education system and facilities that apply Universal Design compliance to their needs were essential. The uses 5 steps of Design Thinking methods consist of Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test methods are hopefully will resolve the problem systematically, in detail, and accurately. The result produced multifunction furnitur by applying FURNURTURE, which stands for Furniture and Nurture, as the design concept. FURNITURE has several functions, namely; an education facility, a therapeutic facility, and storage by applying the Universal Design principle. Hopefully, the design, product, and design principles could stand as a model for other autism educational facilities and services.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="id-ID">The Covid-19 pandemic that hit the world in 2019 caused the number of medical masks to be used to increase. The increasing use of masks has led to a high amount of mask waste being used and environmental pollution caused by people who often throw away masks carelessly. Medical masks are made from polypropylene (PP) which is difficult to decompose, so medical mask waste needs to be handled so it doesn't pollute the environment. Among the three basic techniques for treating waste, the recycle technique was chosen. This study uses a meta-analysis method, which involves analysing data obtained from other journals. Of the 6 journals studied, the recycling techniques that are suitable for PP materials and are most often used by Indonesian people are hot press and extrusion. The recycling technique analysis is based on data collected through the Google Scholar website. Through this research, the advantages and disadvantages of hot press and extrusion techniques can be obtained. Both of these techniques produce different forms of plastic, as the hot press technique which produces plastic sheets is more suitable for use in the handicraft recycling process, while extrusions that produce plastic pellets are more suitable for use in large-scale, high-scale recycling processes such as furniture and other interior materials. </dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="id-ID">Electric motorcycle conversion programs in Indonesia face multiple challenges, including suboptimal battery configuration systems that compromise safety, comfort, and spatial efficiency. This study aims to redesign the battery configuration system of the Yamaha Mio Xeon GT 125 converted electric motorcycle using a user-centered Design Thinking approach. Key issues identified include poor battery ergonomics, safety risks due to inadequate ventilation, and disruption of the motorcycle’s aesthetic integrity. The design process follows five stages: empathizing with users, problem definition, ideation, digital 3D prototyping, and simulation-based testing using CAD software. The outcome is a new battery housing concept relocated to the center deck, utilizing steel plate, rubber, and ABS materials for protection. Evaluation results demonstrate improved vehicle stability and more accessible charging without sacrificing visual coherence. In conclusion, the optimized design effectively addresses technical and ergonomic shortcomings and has the potential to enhance user safety and comfort in daily electric motorcycle use.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="id-ID">Cork is an environmentally friendly material, has unique properties and characteristics, but in Indonesia Cork is only used as a material coaster and Cork Board products. Therefore, there appears an idea to develop a product of perfume packaging with cork material, because the perfume packaging is only box-shaped and cylinder. In this study, the collection of data used is by means of surveys and interviews, and assisted with supporting data such as secondary data (books, journals, Internet). Case studies conducted on this research conducted on five objects, namely PT. Grafika Prima Sejahtera, CV. Mulia Jaya Box, PT. Universal artwork, Cote De Azuro perfume Store and Victoria's Secret perfume Shop. The analysis used is an experimental analysis, before analyzing the design of competitors ' bottles and perfume packaging as part of the experimental step, researchers divided several stages of the experiment, the material stage, the coloring stage, Management stage, finishing stage, form experiment and material mix. Concept used is the concept of duplicate, namely following the form of perfume bottles and iconic, namely using the shape icons of women's body, to show perfume used in women. The duplicate concept is used on brands such as Bleau De Chanel perfume, Chanel Chance Women, Silver Babe Park Lane and Victoria's Secret. Iconic concept used on brand perfume Bvlgari Omnia. Researchers made 5 design alternatives, 4 with duplicate and 1 concepts with iconic concepts. </dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="id-ID">Entering the new normal era, people need safe and comfortable public space seating facilities. Most of the existing public facilities are sufficient for the new normal era, but only a cross on the actual seat can still be used. Seeing these problems, the research was carried out with the aim of producing a new normal sitting facility with a modular and compact form, able to provide viruses, and provide users with protection from COVID-19. This study uses the Stanford D.School "Design Thinking" method which consists of 5 stages, namely; empathize, define, idealize, prototype, and test. Based on this method, the resulting product consists of 5 alternatives with the same function and product objectives. The concept presented is one that can provide virus spread and protect users from other user files, and uses a simple, modular style and product design.</dc:description>

<dc:subject xml:lang="id-ID">sustainable material, furniture product design, pre-consumer waste, recycle experiment</dc:subject>
<dc:description xml:lang="id-ID">In Indonesia, there are several clothing industries that are already engaged in recycling their textile waste. However, it is mostly done by MSMEs. Fabric waste processing generally results in handicraft or art products. Pre-consumer textile waste consists of various types of fabric left over from the cutting or production process of clothing. The huge amount of fabric waste generated by factories can be processed into re-fiber that is soft and lightweight like cotton. This material is easy to mix with other materials to create processed materials for interior products. This research focuses on the potential of processing fabric waste into fibers mixed with other materials into new materials. The method applied in this research is experimentation. The trial gives an idea of the quality and optimization of the application of the material which is expected to be a support for interior products that are ecological, strong, aesthetically valuable and economically valuable. The findings of this research are panel materials that are expected to be used as decorative elements in space, as well as supporting furniture. </dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="id-ID">The Indonesian government is seriously developing products made from endemic natural resources. One of the potential materials to be further developed is wood. The endangered Eusideroxylon Zwageri, commonly known in Indonesia as Ulin Wood, are an endangered flora species that is difficult to find outside the South-East Asia Region. The wood is commonly used for construction and building materials, causing massive exploitation and deforestation. The research initiated a new approach to making smaller products yet having higher economic values. By adding precious metals as the aesthetical elements, it is wished that the product could be classified as precious/semi-precious jewellery, thus elevating its economic value. The research employing method developed by Paul Harris involves the Define, Research, Ideate, Prototype, Select, Implement, and Learn stages. The CNC 3-axis Milling machine will be used to make the prototype. The results are a Wrist watch design with precious metal aesthetical elements. The prototypes are made considering technical boundaries, as the journal explains.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="id-ID">This research addresses the challenge of fabric waste in sandal production caused by high market demand. The study's primary contribution is demonstrating an effective method for repurposing production waste fabric into marketable flatbed sandals, reducing environmental impact while maintaining industry quality standards. Through experimental design, we identified opportunities to transform waste materials into consumer products, potentially creating new market segments responsive to current trends and preferences. Implementation of this approach reduced fabric waste by one 40x60cm trashbag per sandal product. This research provides a sustainable solution to material waste in the footwear industry by creating value from production residuals, simultaneously addressing environmental concerns and opening new commercial possibilities in the consumer footwear market.</dc:description>

<dc:subject xml:lang="id-ID">Quality Function Deployment, karakteristik teknis, part kritis, snap-fit</dc:subject>
<dc:description xml:lang="id-ID">The need for electronic devices has become essential for many people. Nearly all households have adopted their use in various functions and forms, which has consequently led to several issues. One such case involves mixer, an appliance specifically used in the culinary field for mixing dough. The research problem focuses on the weakening of the screw joint on the body cover due to strong vibrations and high-frequency usage. Additionally, the screw holes are too deep, making the assembly process difficult. Therefore, product design improvement is required using the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) Phase I and Phase II methods. This study aims to identify the priority of technical characteristics and critical parts in the mixer product using QFD Phase I and QFD Phase II. Technical characteristics refer to the distinctive features of the product that enable it to perform optimally, such as ease of assembly and the number of components relative to their level of complexity. The product’s critical part refers to the most essential and crucial component, namely, the body cover, which has the highest level of assembly difficulty and thus requires immediate improvement. The improvement proposed for the mixer involves changing the type of joint from the current bolt-based design to a snap-fit design, thereby reducing the number of components and assembly time for 2 units and 17,19 seconds respectively, and enhancing ease of assembly based on the efficiency design calculation by 0,56%.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">The number of post-use or damaged furniture products before their time becomes a problem especially for ecological problems in the work environment. This research tries to explore the creativity of product design based on the principles derived from the concept of green design. One of the principles of green design derived is the upcycle concept. Through the upcycle concept approach, this research tries to construct ex office material into an explorative and ecological new design. This research uses a case study of ex office / campus furniture products that are no longer in use due to damage. The design model based on upcycle concept and formalistic design is used as a basis for design and to analyze design results. The results of this study in addition to creating explorative design products, also explain the principles of ecological regenerative design values, namely optimizing the use of waste materials, durability of product life that can be extended, as well as supporting environmental protection and increasing product values and aesthetics. </dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="id-ID">Ornamental plants are plants that have aesthetic value in terms of color, shape, and characteristics. Planting and maintaining ornamental plants has now become a hobby that housewives are interested in, especially in the Palaran sub-district, East Kalimantan. Housewives take advantage of their free time to do quality and business value things and generate side income, one of which is farming. The ornamental plant business is an agribusiness business. Agribusiness is a business activity of cultivating agricultural products both on a narrow and wide scale. However, it is difficult to find a contractor, demotivating housewives in the ornamental plant business. This raises the need for technology that can provide information, bring together sellers and contractors in a practical way, with minimal costs, able to communicate and transact at any time. From these problems, an Android-based Mobile E-Commerce application was designed using the UX Interface by JJ method. Garrett. The application that has been designed is then tested for usability using a measuring tool for effectiveness, efficiency, and user satisfaction. The usability value obtained is 88.69%. This proves that the application designed has helped users in caring for ornamental plants and has created a desire to do ornamental plant business because they get relevant price recommendations and information on what plants are currently hot so that the collection of ornamental plants which can be of commercial value.</dc:description>

Antoga Jaya belongs to one of food processing industries in Surabaya which uses coconuts as the raw materials for making coconut milk. This company can spend more or less 300 coconuts in which shells are not further processed and only become wastes. Considering this opportunity, the researcher used the coconut shells as the raw materials for producing goods particularly interior accessories. This applied research employed experimental technique. To get information concerning coconut shells, the researcher conducted a case study at Antoga Jaya for investigating the existing waste of coconut shells there. In addition, the researcher carried out a case study at Adjiopet Craft in Surabaya to gain information on how coconut shells could be used for making a certain product. Several phases of experiment were involved such as the processes of sorting, washing, cleaning, shaping pattern, finishing, preserving, lighting, and combining patterns as well as other materials. As a result, this research yielded the ultimate product of interior accessories such as sitting lamp, flower vase, clock, and wall-ornaments</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="id-ID">Conventional plastic-based cosmetic packaging constitutes a substantial contributor to environmental pollution. This investigation examines the application of gonggong shell (Strombus turturella) biocomposite as an alternative material for primary lipstick packaging systems. Five material formulations employing varied binding agents (water, chitosan, epoxy, and eco-resin) were systematically evaluated. An optimal eco-resin:shell ratio of 5:8 was determined, exhibiting superior mechanical properties and aesthetic characteristics. Material processing parameters included thermal treatment at 250°C, particle size refinement to 80 mesh (0.177 mm), and precision molding procedures. Packaging dimensions (85-95 mm × 12-14 mm) were determined through anthropometric analysis (50th-95th percentile) and incorporated a push-click-twist actuation mechanism. Bio-PLA material was integrated to augment structural integrity and aesthetic functionality. Three design alternatives were assessed utilizing parameters encompassing form effectiveness, innovation potential, ergonomic performance, and manufacturing feasibility. The final prototype demonstrates successful integration of sustainable material systems with functional performance requirements. This design framework advances environmentally responsible sustainable design principles. The research establishes the viability of shell biocomposite as a viable substitute for conventional petroleum-based plastics, contributing to sustainable transformation in the cosmetics industry.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="id-ID">This research examines the form relations of artificial fishing lure designs created from the inspiration of living creatures. The study was conducted to identify the various forms of artificial fishing lures and the types of living things they imitate, by collecting data on artificial fishing lures through direct observation, internet studies, and literature studies. The research method used was qualitative with a collective or compound case study approach. It was found that not all artificial fishing lures are realistically similar to living creatures, even in the category of metal wire baits, the shapes tend to be abstract and difficult to guess, but can still be used for fishing. It was also found that some of these baits when used have simulated movements like living things because there are various features that support their bodies such as weights, pendulums, rotating blades and so on. The results of this research can be used as recommendations for developing aspects of design forms based on the Biomimicry method in making decisions to solve problems in the scientific field of product design.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="id-ID">The development of this product innovation aims to create a multifunctional carpet that offers practicality to the public by applying the design thinking approach, which consists of five stages: empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test, along with the AIEOU observation method (Activities, Environments, Interactions, Objects, and Users). The result of this product innovation is a multifunctional carpet made from patterned ripstop fabric and additional materials that can be transformed into a picnic bag. Product testing was conducted using questionnaires involving 37 female respondents aged 20–45 years in the Yogyakarta area. The average test results show that the highest level of user preference was for functionality and practicality (91.89%), followed by material quality (81.98%), comfort (79.28%), aesthetics (74.77%), and size (44.59%). Overall, the product received positive feedback from users, and it is expected that the "Karpet Piksi" can be mass-produced and marketed. Future researchers may develop the multifunctional carpet in other sizes to ensure it can be optimally used by a broader range of users.</dc:description>

Multifunctional furniture is a product that can be used for various activities, but it is essential to consider the design safety standards, especially from the aspect of its functionality design, because this furniture is located in crowded public areas. Field reviews show that many product facility designs have inadequate safety and comfort standards, which can adversely affect visitors, such as injuries, accidents, and negative behaviors and perceptions. Based on this, the research aims to align the management process of the functional design of urban park facilities with the visitors' motivation for activities. In the audit process, the researcher uses the concept development principles of the Function-Behavior-Structure (FBS) method, which is a theory of product design safety activation to determine priority facilities that need attention based on the types of design elements used. This research was conducted in a comprehensive type park in the city of Surabaya, specifically the Surabaya Zoo (KBS), using quantitative descriptive analysis methods. The results of this study indicate the need for recommendations for facility product designs that are safer and more functional.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">The growing modern lifestyle has created a new habit for parents, which is traveling such as traveling with their baby. However, this situation presents various challenges, especially in meeting the needs of the baby. To accommodate these needs, parents often use conventional baby bags that are considered less effective because the compartments are not well organized, which can make it difficult for parents when they have to change diapers immediately. Given the high frequency of urination in infants, it is very important to change diapers regularly to prevent rashes. In public spaces such as Malioboro tourist area, which lacks mother and baby room facilities, parents often have difficulty finding a place with adequate privacy to change diapers. This situation forces them to look for a special space (nursery room) that may be far from their location. This design uses the design thinking method to understand user needs. Based on the results of the data analysis that has been carried out, a diaper bag product design is needed that has an organized compartment arrangement and a means to change baby diapers in the form of a mat equipped with a privacy cover feature. This research resulted in 5 variants of diaper bag products with the main characteristic of creating privacy in public spaces that lack facilities when changing baby diapers.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="id-ID">This study discusses the integration of rapid prototyping and user experience testing in the development of the MEYKE A.01 modular mechanical keyboard. Rapid prototyping is applied to produce prototypes quickly and iteratively through 3D modeling and additive manufacturing, enabling early evaluation of the physical design, casing structure, and modular system. User experience testing is then conducted to assess typing comfort, switch responsiveness, keycap stability, and overall ergonomics. This research employs a qualitative approach involving concept development, prototype fabrication, user testing, and evaluation analysis. The results indicate that integrating these methods enhances the alignment of the design with user needs and accelerates the identification and refinement of design issues. Thus, this approach is effective in producing a modular keyboard that is functional, ergonomic, and user-experience oriented.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="id-ID">The use of natural stone in the interior industry is often under-estimated and inefficient. So that unknowingly this causes a lot of waste material from the remaining cutting slabs or stone slabs. Even though if it is reviewed, natural stone waste material has the potential to be recycled into interior products with high aesthetics. In this design the authors collaborate with PT. Gajah Mada Sukses Trinity which is domiciled in Sidoarjo, East Java. This design aims to understand the characteristics of waste material and upcycling techniques that can be applied to highlight its uniqueness. The results of the design in the form of 3 sets of interior product design consisting of coffee tables, side tables, credenza, and console tables, 3 product realization consisting of 2 coffee tables and 1 side table, brands for products & media promotion, and several alternatives compilation of natural stone waste material into mosaic-shaped sheets. This design proves that natural stone waste materials can be reprocessed by upcycling techniques into high-quality interior products.</dc:description>

In Indonesia, coworking spaces are developing, with proof of that is the emergence of coworking spaces in big cities, such as Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya, and Yogyakarta. With the increasing demand, coworking spaces are currently experiencing development. One element that is quite close and plays an important role in work activities is a table and chairs. Various activities and various work backgrounds that gather in a limited space and spend quite a long time, demand a coworking space to be a versatile and comfortable place. Thus, we need furniture that can achieve effectiveness and still think about the concept of open space or sharing space with other users. This means that this furniture has more features, such as being able to be used individually or together. So that the designed tables and chairs can accommodate user needs and adjust the space that is expected to create comfort for working in a coworking space.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">The use of Virtual Reality as a representation of biophilic design has been commonly used for design evaluations on human perception and performance before the actual construction. Biophilic design is known for the relaxing effects on human physiological responses; particularly cardiac activity indexed by Heart Rate Variability (HRV), representing human’s relaxation or stress conditions. How virtual biophilic design affects HRV, and what research protocols are most effective in assessing these physiological effects remains unclear. This literature review clarify research protocols and outline the trends of HRV in virtual biophilic design and to propose guidelines for improving the accuracy and reliability of HRV measurements. Most of the reviewed studies found an equal trend of the increased parasympathetic activity correlating with a reduced anxiety, during exposure to specific virtual biophilic designs. Studies with insignificant HRV effects may be due to the inadequate measurement protocol. The clearer effects on HRV may be observed by limiting virtual exposure to 15 minutes, avoiding virtual sickness, maintaining consistent subject positions, incorporating paced breathing in all conditions during HRV recordings, and evaluating short-term HRV measures for a minimum of 5 minutes. Virtual biophilic exposure holds promise for pre-construction design assessment, depending on appropriate methodologies.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="id-ID">The Indonesian electric vehicle market is rapidly expanding alongside technological advancements and increased environmental awareness. However, in practice, many converted electric motorcycles still employ battery charging systems that are not ergonomically designed, making them impractical and sometimes hazardous for users. Ergonomic principles emphasize the importance of designs that are effective, efficient, safe, and comfortable. For example, some designs place the battery charging port beneath the motorcycle seat to protect it from rain, but this location often proves ineffective during charging. This study aims to redesign the charging system on converted electric motorcycles to make it more practical, safe, and user-friendly. The research methods include field studies to identify user needs, ergonomic analyses to evaluate existing designs, development and iteration of a new charging port design, prototyping, and iterative user testing. The primary contribution of this work is the development of an integrated charging port design based on user experience. A user-centered design approach has been acknowledged for producing the best solutions, and the user’s experience during the charging process plays a crucial role in electric vehicle adoption. Therefore, a charging port integrated into the motorcycle body and tailored to user needs is expected to advance the design of converted electric vehicles.</dc:description>

This study examines the development and changes in cooking activities in Sundanese society, characterized using tools, the cooking process, the efficiency of cooking procedures, and the values adopted in cooking activities. The approach used in this study is an ethnographic design approach and participatory observation. The purpose of this study is to observe changes in rice cooking activities and their transformation in terms of cooking utensils design, cooking process, and cooking habits, as well as their effect on changes in rice cooking design and activities with a case study of traditional houses in Sundanese people. The habits and development of traditional rice cooking utensils and traditional cooking habits and their significant changes in semi-modern and modern products in traditional Sundanese houses in Kampung Naga, Tasikmalaya, West Java were observed in a participatory manner. The findings of changes and developments in culture, habits, processes, and designs on rice cookware products are used as a basis for market segmentation for rice cookware products which are divided into two main market segments which can later be used for the needs of the target users to design products with cultural values, product efficiency, and the value of the product to the user. The two main segments are the home and business segments, which are divided into more specific segments. Specific segments for the home segment are ordinary and extraordinary households. In contrast, the business segment is divided into accommodation providers, food and drink service providers, and other service sectors.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="id-ID">Expedition services experienced an increase during the pandemic, this happened because during the pandemic people were encouraged to stay at home, but their daily needs must still be met. The increase in expedition services has a problem with motorbike couriers who are tasked with sending goods to consumers' homes, where the transportation means that the courier uses use materials that are not waterproof and also easily torn. From these problems, it is necessary to redesign the means of transporting goods that are resistant to various weathers. To solve this problem, the researcher uses the mix method, namely qualitative and quantitative research methods. Observations were made at two places in the city of Surabaya which were then used for work requirements analysis, storage needs analysis, ergonomics analysis, placement analysis, dimension analysis, material analysis, system analysis, shape analysis, colour analysis, and sign analysis. Then the design synthesis, design concepts, initial sketches, five alternative designs were obtained which were then distributed to motorcycle couriers to obtain the final design which was then closed with conclusions and suggestions. The result of the research is the redesign of the means of transporting goods which has two parts, namely the top and bottom using a jeep hood material and foam heart, some parts can be opened and closed using a zipper system, velcro, buckle, and reflective tape that can reflect light at night day.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">This research aims to design a minimalist dining table set using the Japandi style concept for the dining room. In the era of rapid growth in the global furniture industry, where the need for an efficient dining room is indispensable, the Japandi style concept was chosen for its flexibility in adjusting to the size of the space. This dining table set is designed to be modular when installed according to the user's needs, maximizing the efficiency of the dining room without compromising aesthetics. This research employs a qualitative method with a Design Thinking approach, involving five stages: empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test. Teak wood was chosen as the primary material due to its durability and aesthetic value of its fibers. The Japandi style concept design not only meets the needs of the dining room but also supports the principle of sustainability through the use of durable and environmentally friendly materials. The results of the study show that the design with the Japandi style concept is effective in optimizing the dining room.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="id-ID">Micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) craftsmen need product innovation to develop and adapt to market developments. This study aims to diversify the products of ceramic and bamboo craftsmen in the Malang area of East Java as contemporary interior decoration products. Their condition is stagnant due to constraints in product development so the craftsmen are decreasing and there is no regeneration. In this study, the ceramic and bamboo crafts of craftsmen in Malang will be combined for contemporary interior decoration products. The results of this study are expected to be a product diversification and can provide design input for ceramic and bamboo craftsmen in Malang. Besides that, it can expand its market share and as a preservation of craft skills as a cultural heritage. This study uses the brainstorming design thinking method by combining two materials to create alternative products for ceramic and bamboo craftsmen in Malang. In addition, it can expand its market share and preserve craft skills as a cultural heritage. This research uses the design thinking method by applying ATUMICS theory to develop product design. This product's development utilizes existing ceramic moulds to speed up and reduce production costs. Likewise, the development of bamboo products, as well as the expertise that the craftsmen already have, adapted to a more modern form.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="id-ID">The increasing human population with limited land in urban areas encourages people to live in narrow areas such as apartments, boarding houses, flats, and other living spaces that related to the function of the furniture to be designed. Plus covid-19 virus outbreak which has entered many people to work from home (WFH). With the help of technological developments that make it possible for someone to be more flexible to work anywhere and anytime without having to be physically present at the office where they work. This way of working and lifestyle makes many people need furniture that can accommodate their work activities flexibly in narrow dwellings, using processed plastic waste as a market attraction. This design uses the design thinking method, starts from observing the introduction of the characteristics of the plastic waste recycling process, collecting data and literature related to design problems, extracting ideas, and studying the typology of similar products as a basis for determining the concept of design boundaries, and developing the resulting final design. Through the steps taken, in the end, it will produce furniture made from processed plastic waste that is of visual quality, function, and market need for narrow dwellings. So, the resulting furniture is useful and brings positive things to users. </dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="id-ID">This research is based on the design of a coffee table that utilizes corn cobs as the main raw material, with a focus on the creative novelty of conventional products. This design is motivated by the opportunities in the bending lamination technique in processing corn cobs. So the purpose of this research is to produce a novel coffee table design using the bending lamination technique. To achieve this goal, the researcher uses a form exploration approach through the design by drawing method based on 3 design stages. This stage begins with the process of understanding the design problem, which begins with an understanding of the material through the experience of directly making a coffee table owned by PT. Matahati Kreasi Nusantara, and ends with the design development stage. At the end of the research, a design was produced in the form of a production drawing of a coffee table in the shape of a third circle, which is integrated with a storage space in the form of a box. Most of the research was conducted at PT. Matahati Kreasi Nusantara, for 1 month. The research resulted in the discovery that corn cob material as a large agricultural industrial waste can be utilized into various products through various techniques to expose the characteristics of corn cobs. One of them is through the bending technique which is the advantage of corn cob material because it is easier to bend compared to other materials.</dc:description>

PT. Otscon Safety Indonesia is a manufacturing company that manufactures automotive components called the Lever Parking Brake. The company has an assembly work station called Button Release Assy, where the work is done in a standing work position, so that operators will quickly feel fatigue from working in a standing position. This study aims to design a Sit-and-Stand Chair, so that operators working at the button release work station do not experience fatigue quickly. The design of the Sit-and-Stand Chair is based on the Anthropometric approach to create an ergonomic chair. The size of the chair is determined based on the results of the percentile calculation of body dimensions, where the body dimensions used are the hip width to find the diameter of the seat cushion and hip height and the vertical height of the chair from the floor. The results showed that the chair seat diameter from the 95th percentile was ∅35.4 cm and the height of the chair from the floor vertically from the 5th percentile was 83.4 cm</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">Palbatu Batik House operates in the creative industry, producing a variety of batik patterns. Unfortunately, none of its products have yet been protected by intellectual property rights. Intellectual property rights provide legal safeguards for the ownership of public and private intellectual property, fostering the development of the creative economy and playing a vital role in national development. This study examines the protection of Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs), specifically copyrights and industrial designs, for Palbatu Batik House, and to explore the registration of intellectual property rights for contemporary batik patterns on Palbatu Street. Employing a normative juridical approach, the research involves a review of relevant literature and legal sources. Secondary data forms the basis of this study, including primary legal materials, such as laws and regulations, and secondary materials from various articles and books. Findings indicate that Palbatu Batik House is eligible for Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) protection in the form of Copyrights and Industrial Design Rights, which will aid in safeguarding the originality of its products, enhancing the competitive edge of this Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME).</dc:description>

<dc:subject xml:lang="id-ID">tas Koja, Baduy, ATUMICS, desain kontekstual, revitalisasi</dc:subject>
<dc:description xml:lang="id-ID">This study aims to revitalize the Baduy Koja Bag through an Indigenous Design Thinking approach and the ATUMICS method as an effort to integrate traditional values with contemporary design needs. The Koja Bag, as a distinctive craft of the Baduy community, serves not only a practical function but also embodies strong philosophical, ecological, and spiritual values. Indigenous Design Thinking is employed to explore the meanings, symbolism, and social practices embedded in the Koja Bag, while the ATUMICS method provides an analytical framework for design elements, including technique, material, utility, icon, concept, and shape. The results indicate that the design revitalization process successfully preserved approximately 70 percent of the Koja Bag’s traditional elements, particularly in weaving techniques, the use of local materials, and visual symbolism. Meanwhile, around 30 percent of the design elements were selectively revitalized to enhance product ergonomics and functionality without diminishing cultural identity. The integrated contemporary elements include a transformation of the silhouette into a hobo bag form, the addition of a buckle system on the strap, and the use of inner lining to improve everyday comfort. These quantitative findings confirm that culture-based design innovation can be achieved through measurable and sustainable contextual transformation. The revitalization of the Koja Bag contributes to the preservation of traditional crafts amid globalization while opening opportunities for sustainable creative economic development for the Baduy artisan community.</dc:description>
