Returning Home in a Foreign Land: Third Space and the Identity Negotiation of Keroncong-Sasak

This study aims to document and analyze the acculturation phenomenon of Keroncong-Sasak music by the OK Bawaq Paoq group in East Lombok. This group, which started as a Javanese migrant community called GPK (Golek Pangan Kadohan) since 1991, has successfully combined keroncong music with Sasak cultural elements. This work uses a qualitative approach and artistic practice in the form of a documentary film. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews with key informants (Noor Hasim, Hary Murchayanto, and Lalu Mustiarep), field observation, and musical analysis of the song "Kr. Putri Mandalika". The results show that acculturation occurs in lyrics (Sasak language) and scales (keroncong diatonic). This documentary film serves as a living archive that records the identity negotiation strategies of the Javanese migrant community in East Lombok while preserving minority music amidst the dominance of local culture.
