Wacana Bahaya Deifikasi Karakter Lisan-Al Gaib dalam Film Dune: Part Two

Abstract


Film adalah salah satu teks bahasa yang memiliki kekuatan untuk mengkonstruksi realitas sosial. Unsur naratif, dialog, dan pengembangan karakternya kerap kali memunculkan wacana tertentu di masyarakat. Pada film “Dune: Part Two” (2024), pengembangan karakter Paul Atreides memperlihatkan adanya wacana deifikasi atau pendewaan tokoh politik yang akhirnya menimbulkan problematika tersendiri di masyarakat. Menggunakan analisis wacana kritis Norman Fairclough, peneliti berupaya untuk membongkar wacana dibalik kisah naiknya Paul Atreides pada tampuk kekuasaan dan bagaimana film ini menimbulkan makna di masyarakat tentang bahaya deifikasi dalam budaya politik. Hasil temuan pada penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dialog dan skenario dalam film berperan penting untuk memunculkan wacana deifikasi, yang kemudian menjadi dasar reflektif bagi kehidupan sosial politik di masyarakat yang terpolarisasi. Situasi politik dewasa ini di mana kultus dan fanatisme tokoh politik kian meningkat juga turut memengaruhi bagaimana adaptasi novel Dune terbaru ini disajikan.
