Peer Review Process
Pre-review of submitted articles is conducted by the Ars: Jurnal Seni Rupa dan Desain editorial team to assess the suitability of each submission in relation to the journal's focus and scope, as well as compliance with the author guidelines. Due to the significant volume of manuscripts currently under consideration, this initial stage takes approximately 12 weeks to ensure each submission receives thorough and careful assessment.
Substantive single-blind peer review is then conducted by a minimum of two independent reviewers over a period of approximately 4 weeks. Reviewers are selected based on their expertise in the relevant subject area. If necessary, a reviewer may request a second review following the author's revision to ensure that all concerns have been adequately addressed.
The final decision on whether an article is accepted for publication belongs to the Editor-in-Chief, taking into account the recommendations provided by the reviewers and the overall scholarly merit of the submission.

Expedited (Fast-Track) Review Request
Authors who have a compelling reason to request an accelerated (fast-track) review timeline, such as graduation requirements, institutional reporting obligations, research report deadlines, or grant-related report deadlines, are welcome to contact the Editor-in-Chief at jurnal.ars@isi.ac.id. Requests should briefly explain the circumstances warranting an expedited (fast-track) process.
Please note that all expedited (fast-track) submissions remain subject to the same rigorous editorial standards, including pre-review screening and substantive peer review. An accelerated timeline does not guarantee acceptance, nor does it exempt any submission from the full quality assessment required to uphold the journal's scholarly integrity.
No additional fee or cost is charged to authors for an expedited (fast-track) review request.
The Editor-in-Chief will assess each request on a case-by-case basis and will endeavor to accommodate reasonable requests where editorial capacity permits. The Editor-in-Chief will endeavor to respond to all expedited (fast-track) review requests within 7 working days of receipt.

Duties of Editors
Publication Decisions: The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for deciding which submitted articles should be published. Editorial decisions may be guided by the policies of the journal's editorial board and are subject to legal requirements in force regarding libel, copyright infringement, and plagiarism. The Editor-in-Chief may consult other editors or reviewers when making this decision.
Fair Play: Editors must evaluate manuscripts solely on the basis of their intellectual content, without regard to the race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors.
Confidentiality: Editors and editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisers, and the publisher, as appropriate.
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in an editor's own research without express written consent of the author.
---
Duties of Reviewers
Contribution to Editorial Decisions: Peer review assists the Editor-in-Chief in making editorial decisions and, through editorial communication with the author, may also help the author improve the manuscript.
Promptness: Any reviewer who feels unqualified to assess the research reported in a manuscript, or who knows that a timely review will not be possible, should notify the editor and withdraw from the review process.
Confidentiality: Manuscript received for review must be treated as confidential documents. They must not be shown to or discussed with others except as authorised by the editor.
Standards of Objectivity: Reviews must be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Reviewers should express their views clearly and support them with arguments.
Acknowledgement of Sources: Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors. Any statement that an observation, derivation, or argument has been previously reported should be accompanied by the relevant citation. Reviewers should also draw the editor's attention to any substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscript under consideration and any other published work within their knowledge.
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: Privileged information or ideas obtained through peer review must be kept confidential and must not be used for personal advantage. Reviewers should not consider manuscripts in which they have a conflict of interest arising from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships with any of the authors, companies, or institutions connected to the submission.

Duties of Authors
Reporting Standards: Authors reporting original research should present an accurate account of the work performed and an objective discussion of its significance. Underlying data must be represented accurately. A paper should contain sufficient detail and references to allow others to replicate the work. Fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements constitute unethical behaviour and are unacceptable.
Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure that their work is entirely original. Where the work or words of others have been used, these must be appropriately cited or quoted.
Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication: Authors should not publish manuscripts describing essentially the same research in more than one journal. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently constitutes unethical publishing behaviour and is unacceptable.
Acknowledgement of Sources: Proper acknowledgement of the work of others must always be given. Authors should cite publications that have been influential in shaping the nature of the reported work.
Authorship: Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study. All those who have made significant contributions should be listed as co-authors. Others who have participated in certain substantive aspects of the research should be acknowledged or listed as contributors.
The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all appropriate co-authors, and no inappropriate co-authors, are included, and that all co-authors have reviewed and approved the final version of the manuscript prior to submission.
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: All authors must disclose in their manuscript any financial or other substantive conflict of interest that could be construed to influence the results or interpretation of their work. All sources of financial support for the project must be disclosed.
Fundamental Errors in Published Works: When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in their own published work, it is their obligation to promptly notify the journal editor or publisher and to cooperate with the editor to issue a retraction or correction.
