Dr. Andre Indrawan born in Bandung, 10 May 1961. His academic background including: 1) Bachelor of Arts with Honour (1986), from Music Department, the Faculty of Arts, Yogyakarta Indonesian Institute of the Arts, 2) Master of Humanities in Performance Arts Studies (1994), from the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Gadjah Mada University, Yogyakarta,  3) Master of Music Studies (2000) from the Faculty of Music, the University of Melbourne, Australia, and 4) Doctor of Philosophy in Performing Arts and Fine Arts (2010), from Gadjah Mada University. In addition, he also held highest professional qualifications in music, such as (1) Certificate in classical guitar teaching from Yamaha Music Foundation, Tokyo (1996), and 2) classical guitar diploma, the Licentiate of Music, Australia (L.Mus.A.) form Australian Music Examination Boards, (AMEB), Melbourne, Australia (1997). Since 1987 he has been serving as full time music lecturer at Yogyakarta Indonesian Institute of the Arts with his current teaching position as the Professor of music. He was formerly responsible as the Head of Music Department for the 2011-2015 and 2015-2019 periods.
