FOTOGRAFI DOKUMENTER PERUBAHAN KEHIDUPAN MASYARAKAT PETANI DI PANTAI SADENG, KABUPATEN GUNUNGKIDUL, PROVINSI DAERAH ISTIMEWA YOGYAKARTA

Abstract

Documentary Photography of the Changes in Farming Community Life at Sadeng Beach, Gunungkidul Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta. This photographic creation is about the farmers at Sadeng Beach, Gunungkidul who turned professions into fishermen since the port of Sadeng Beach was built. The different life from the two professions raises the idea to realize it into the medium of photography. The lives of farmers around Sadeng Beach are visualized in the form of documentary photography. This project used the EDFAT methods (entire, detail, frame, angle, time). This method was chosen in order to obtain varied visualizations, and the photos were in black and white to make the objects stand out. This photographic creation shows the activities of farmers who also become fishermen. The photos visualized the life of farming community at Sadeng Beach when they either work as a farmer or a fisherman, along with their interaction with natures and people around them.

ABSTRAK

Penciptaan tugas akhir ini membahas tentang petani di Pantai Sadeng, Gunungkidul yang beralih profesi menjadi nelayan sejak dibangun pelabuhan Pantai Sadeng. Pola kehidupan yang berbeda dari kedua profesi tersebut memunculkan gagasan untuk menceritakannya melalui media fotografi. Kehidupan petani sekitar Pantai Sadeng divisualkan dalam bentuk karya fotografi dokumenter. Metode yang digunakan dalam penciptaan ini adalah metode EDFAT. Metode ini dipilih agar memperoleh visualisasi yang bervariasi. Karya fotografi yang diciptakan ditampilkan dalam karya hitam putih agar perhatian fokus ke objek. Karya fotografi dokumenter ini menampilkan aktivitas petani di kebun, alat bertani, hasil pertanian, pada bidang maritim divisualkan aktivitas mencari ikan, peralatan yang digunakan, menjual hasil tangkapan ke tengkulak, serta interaksi dengan nelayan lainnya.
